The ACM does not issue invitations for those requiring visas to visit Canada; however, we can provide a letter to help support a visa application.
Visa support letters are provided by the registration team once a registration has been confirmed and paid for. We expect registration to open in January 2018. If you are the presenting author of an accepted CHI paper, we can provide a letter of support stating the title and authors of your paper.
Please follow these steps to prepare for attending CHI 2018.
- For information on visa requirements, please visit the Government of Canada’s Website on Visiting Canada.
- Find out if you need a visa, by using the online tool provided by the Government of Canada. You can also view the list of entry requirements by country.
- Check the visa processing times, using the Government of Canada’s website. If the processing time is longer than 60 days, contact the general chairs and the registration team to obtain an advance copy of the visa support letter.
- You can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (cost = $7) online. It is recommended that attendees from all countries listed (note this list includes Australia, the US, most countries in Europe, and Britain) complete this process. Most applications are approved within minutes of applying online.
