The ACM does not issue invitations for those requiring visas to visit Canada; however, we can provide a letter to help support a visa application.
Visa support letters are provided by the registration team once a registration has been confirmed and paid for. You can register at the CHI registration site. If you are the presenting author of an accepted CHI paper, we can provide a letter of support stating the title and authors of your paper.
Please follow these steps to prepare for attending CHI 2018.
- For information on visa requirements, please visit the Government of Canada’s Website on Visiting Canada.
- Find out if you need a visa, by using the online tool provided by the Government of Canada. You can also view the list of entry requirements by country.
- Check the visa processing times, using the Government of Canada’s website. Be sure to register in time to get your visa processed.
- You can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (cost = $7) online. It is recommended that attendees from all countries listed (note this list includes Australia, most countries in Europe, and Britain) complete this process. Lawful permanent residents of the US also need one; however, US Citizens only need a US passport to enter Canada and do not need the ETA. Most applications are approved within minutes of applying online.
